Submission to Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs

National Shelter welcomes the opportunity to make a submission to the Senate Standing Committee
on Community Affairs on ‘the worsening rental crisis in Australia’.

National Shelter’s initial submission to the inquiry was the joint statement prepared with the National
Association of Renters’ Organisations (NARO) and endorsed by 80 organisations from across
Australia (Appendix One). This subsequent submission draws upon previous recent National Shelter
documents including submissions to inquiries, pre-budget submissions, and policy positions.
